21 Day YWCA Challenge 2021

The challenge has begun.  We are sharing this information for anyone interested in joining this challenge.

Each week, H-D employees who register and participate in the challenge, will have a chance to answer questions to enter to win prizes. More details on that will be shared next week.

I have attached a flyer that you can post in your areas or share with others.

Thank you for your support and effort towards this work in our community!

What is it?

21 Day Racial and Social Equity Challenge

YWCA York

The 21 Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership. Our challenge starts on Monday, March 1st and continues  through March 29th (Monday –Friday). We will also be holding one evening session person week via Zoom which is optional.

Each day starting on March 1st, you will be presented with activities such as reading an article, listening to a podcast, reflecting on personal experience and more. Participation in an activity like this helps us to discover how racial injustice and social injustice impact our community, to connect with one another, and to identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination. You can choose how to participate based on the time you have available.

We hope that you will go into this challenge with an open heart and a curious mind, ready to be pushed out of your comfort zone. We know these discussions can be difficult and can bring up powerful emotions, but your commitment to increasing your awareness is what will help move our community forward. You can also join our private Facebook group where participants can continue the conversation in a safe space.

This is an exciting opportunity to dive deep into racial equity and social justice. Please share the registration link with your circle of contacts!
